Our Purpose

Our purpose at First Church of God is fivefold:

Evangelize - Sharing the Good News of a loving God by reaching out to the “World” (John 3:16).

Worship - Exalting and magnifying God, coming into His presence through prayer, praise, and experiencing the Word of God.

Disciple - Educating and building up into maturity persons of all ages for committed Godly living, based on Biblical principles.

Fellowship - Providing a variety of activities that create and support lasting friendships and family values within a Christian context.

Serve and Equip to Serve - Ministering to others in the name of Jesus, meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in our own church as well as locally, nationally, and internationally.

We are called to bring people to J esus,
so they can E xalt God's Holy name,
be S piritually mature,
be U nited in fellowship,
and be equipped for S ervice.


Based on the aconymn J-E-S-U-S, our five purposes are summed up as:
        J esus - Evangelize
        E xalt - Worship
        S piritual Maturity - Disciple
        U nited - Fellowship
        S ervice - Serve and Equip to Serve
